The main idea of the dissertation is to find possible differences in vocabulary learning in the same group of students in different subjects: English and Science taught in English (following CLIL methodology). In order to do that, we isolated the words that appear solely in each subject (we scanned the textbooks and teaching materials) and we passed
a VKS test (Vocabulary Knowledge Scale -Paribakht and Wesche-) to find out which words showed a higher score. The test has already been passed to students and the results suggest that CLIL helps vocabulary learning

The next step after analyzing the most common related words and its repetitions, we
checked the CEFR level of those related words in order to contrast once again the CLIL and EFL
methods. We compared the couples once more and the most relevant results emerge with the
layer-noise and iron CLIL-iron EFL couples because after erasing the incorrect words which we
mentioned earlier there was no possibility of contrasting the words vent and venue with other
prompts because they had no correct related words remaining as we can see in Table 11, where
they are contrasted with its corresponding couples.
