You will need to be a creative and a critical thinker for this project. Look at what is being done in your clinical experiences because you will need to describe a current process for this project. The group must make a case based on a QI Process Improvement at hospital X. The project cannot address all the hospitals across the US. Focus on one specific error based upon the group’s topic. For example for medication administration, what does hospital X do — is there CPOE, barcode med admin? What are the frequent medication errors? Where does med error data come from (e.g. incident reports, missed medication reports from the system)? You will then present a case study that will be used to frame your project.
