Aims and Objectives:
Identify and explain the overall aims of your dissertation. These should be followed by a list of objectives which should collectively describe what the final deliverables and achievements of the dissertation will be. Aims are your intentions and aspirations and objectives are your goals. Aims are typically written in broad terms. Objectives are specific declarations that define measurable results; those are the steps you will take to achieve the preferred outcome. (350 words approx.)

a. Use recent references and citations to review the current state of the proposed Area.
b. There needs to be a range of relevant sources that together contribute to the student forming a comprehensive review of the area.
c. Sources must be properly cited; each citation MUST appear as a reference in the bibliography.
d. Short quotes, properly cited are permissible but it is essential that you avoid transcription of sections of the reviewed papers – it is your understanding of the content that needs to be demonstrated; transcription will be taken as evidence of

Work Breakdown Structure and Deliverables:
The dissertation plan should include two items:
· Work breakdown structure; and
· Deliverables.
For work breakdown structure, identify the list of overall aims or work packages that you would like to achieve using the flow chart below. For objectives or activities there will be a number of tasks that you would like to undertake. Please refer to the flow chart below and generate your own flow chart.
For deliverables produce a Gantt chart or PERT chart to describe when the project will start and when it will finish with the list objectives or tasks that you would like to achieve. The deliverables should include all of your key development products and research outputs as well as timings of your main deliverables and activities. (200 words approx. including a Gantt chart or a PERT chart)
Scientific Risk Analysis:
a. What might go wrong?
b. How likely is each risk and how severe would its impact be?
c. How would you reduce the probability of a risk becoming a reality?
d. How would you handle the risk if it becomes a reality?
Draw a table and classify the risks as low, medium and high. (250 words approx.)
Resources Needed and Architecture:
a. Hardware, software, people, permissions and any other resources
b. Security of project and confidentiality
c. Hardware architecture diagram
d. Software / information architecture diagram, etc. (250 words approx.)
References:

Guideline on report submission:
It is essential that the report is kept within the size guidelines of 1500 words and is produced to a high professional standard. You need to use subsections within the main sections to structure the content. The report must be bound. The report
needs to be properly presented with a title page, contents page, numbered pages, tidily assembled and use lucid English. Consistent fonts and layout need to be
used. Statements and assertions of fact must be based on properly sourced references. The sources must be listed in the bibliography and referenced in the main part of report. The marks for sections are indicative only. Tutors will judge the work and the workbook as an entity. Particular emphasis will be placed on the student demonstrating understanding by interpreting sources.
