Giant Square is an established Australia-based retailer selling furniture and home
appliances. For the last 20 years, the company has been focusing on market within the
country, as well as overseas in US, Europe and China. Besides its physical stores, the
company has an online retailing arm in those countries since 2010.
Since early 2017, the top management found that the company’s sales have been
growing only by marginal. Furthermore, the profit margin drops due to the saturated market and intense competition in those countries. To resolve this problem, an idea of venturing into emerging economies was proposed in the last board meeting.

If this fails to remedy the situation then you should bring it to the attention
of the course coordinator.
The course coordinator will, as a matter of course, call a meeting of the group. At that
meeting each group member will be asked to describe in detail their input into the
assignment and provide supporting documentation of this effort (i.e. the individual
diaries). Where group members are found to be making inadequate effort or delivering
a poor quality product then they will be counselled to improve their effort. If sufficient
improvement is not made to the satisfaction of the group then the mark awarded to the
group members may be moderated to reflect the relative input into the assignment.
Please note that the inability to provide an adequately detailed diary upon request will
be taken as prima facie evidence of a lack of genuine effort.
