Introduction
An Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is anything but a cluster of guidelines employed by the owner or network administrator. This could also be applicable for an online portal or large computer system that limits how resources on these networks are used (Sanborn, 2009). AUPs represent a critical segment of the structure of data security policies. As information security personnel at BDG Bank, I will start by imploring new members of the BDG Bank to confirm adherence to the AUP before gaining access to the company’s information systems. To this effect, an AUP should be concise and clear, while covering critical elements concerning what BGD Bank users should access and what not to access. I will also go ahead to define fines that one is likely to attract in the event of contravening the AUP. To determine whether or not users are adhering to the AUP, I will put in place impromptu audits. However, what remains paramount is the need to put in place an impartial usage policy that permits unlimited usage at a fee. This is highly likely to control how people use information and limit what is seen to be excessive. For instance, those who use a network in a manner likely to affect their counterparts may have their usage terminated or suspended (Kizza, 2013). This research paper presents an AUP for BDG Bank.
