I’d like to discuss the irony in the Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan
Poe. The main character, Montressor, keeps making subtle comments for
Fortunato hinting that he is planning on killing Fortunato by using
verbal irony (he says one thing but means another). I’d like to point
out several examples of how he did that and what he said and explain how
this is significant to the story. I only need to use one source, the
