This final essay is a summary of Modules 8 through 14. This assignment will synthesize information that you have previously studied. You are to write a four-page essay (not including pictures or bibliography).
Topic: Structures/Domes and Towers. Formulate a thesis concerning how Islamic and Christian societies in the medieval and early modern periods have dealt with the technology and design of creating tall buildings. Examine such elements as domes and towers. How have structural solutions changed over time? How were these strategies reflected in the buildings’ designs?
