Your assessment is a professional discussion. You will be given one question which you can prepare your answers for, and one unseen question.
Prior to the professional discussion, you will have uploaded your reference list for question one to canvas, correctly formatted according to HSK guidance.
Professional Discussion Question:
- How can young people with learning disabilities be supported to transition from child to adult services?
You will have 10 mins (+ or – 10%) to answer this question.
Unseen question:
- You will also need to answer one unseen question. You will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to answer this question.
Be aware:
- Prepare your discussion, make notes, practice what you intend to say
- Practice keeping to time – you have 10 minutes (+/- 10%) to present your discussion and an additional 3 minutes for the unseen question.
- This is a 15-credit level 5 academic assignment and therefore it is important that you demonstrate knowledge that reflects this. You will be expected, during the presentation, to refer to theory and literature that you have researched and read.

Additional Information:
- Date – Tuesday 6th May
- Time – please check your personal allocated time – see Canvas. Do not be late, university exam regulations apply, there is no leeway for lateness in an exam.
- Location –Wright building, college lane- be clear on which classroom your assignment is taking place in, this cannot be changed.
- ID will need to be available, and you will need to show it to the assessor.
- The assessment will be recorded (video & audio).
- Duration: you have 10 minutes (+/-10%) for your prepared answer; at that point you will stopped, a time warning can be given during.
You have 3 minutes for the final unseen question. - If you have been recommended an adjustment under a ‘study needs agreement’ this will be reviewed and discussed with you individually.
- All assignments will be double marked by two internal markers, recorded, and sent externally as per university regulations.
- You can bring notes and references into the assessment to aid in answering questions, however you are expected to demonstrate knowledge of the topic, not just read your notes.
- Answer clearly, succinctly, and professionally.
- Do NOT share with anyone – you are a professional and it is academic misconduct to collude with other students.

What assessment regulations are relevant?
You must ensure that you are honest in the way you undertake the assessment. All work must be your own work. While completing the assessment you MUST NOT:

What if I have problems during the assessment?
Your assessor will be able to advise and help you decide if you are able to continue or need to ask for Exceptional Circumstances. Remember if you chose to sit the assessment, you are declaring yourself fit to sit.
What happens if I miss the assessment?
The assessment will not be available after the time has passed. If you miss it, a mark of zero will be awarded, unless you have reason for exceptional circumstances. Not all reasons are accepted so you need to check the Exceptional Circumstances information and procedures.
